Al Marmoom Dune Run 2026

Dubai Sports Council announces the return of the popular Al Marmoom Dune Run on 25th January 2026

The Dubai Sports Council, in association with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Municipality, and in collaboration with the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, has announced the return of one of Dubai’s most anticipated community fitness events, the Al Marmoom Dune Run, taking place on Sunday, 25 January 2026, within the spectacular Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.

The event invites participants to experience the beauty and challenge of Dubai’s natural landscape through two race categories: a 5KM Dune Run and a 10KM Desert Race. Open to both recreational and elite runners, the Al Marmoom Dune Run inspires participants to push their limits, test endurance, and celebrate their fitness journey in one of the UAE’s most breathtaking outdoor settings.

Race Director Danil Bornventure, Managing Director of FittGROUP, commented:
“The Al Marmoom Dune Run takes participants deep into a spectacular desert landscape, testing both physical stamina and mental determination as they traverse the dunes of the conservation reserve. It’s an inspiring way to kick-start the New Year’s fitness journey while embracing Dubai’s rich desert heritage.”

Danil added:
“The event embodies Dubai’s vision to promote an active lifestyle, community wellbeing, and respect for nature. We are proud to organize this event in the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve, a destination that represents the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, conservation, and outdoor recreation.”

Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in both race distances, while all participants will receive commemorative medals to celebrate their achievement.

The Al Marmoom Dune Run supports the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve’s mission to protect local wildlife and promote sustainable outdoor recreation within Dubai’s natural heritage.

Building on Dubai’s growing reputation as a global destination for endurance sports, the Al Marmoom Dune Run is held as part of the Al Marmoom Ultramarathon (AMUM) race series, which includes the world’s longest desert ultramarathon.

Organized by FittGROUP in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, the record-breaking ultramarathon first took place from 11–15 December 2018, setting new benchmarks for endurance and environmental harmony in sports.

Registration for the Al Marmoom Dune Run is now open.
