Dubai To Host Wings For Life World Run 2022 At Souk Al Marfa
The world’ biggest running event will connect with Dubai on Sunday 8th May, thousands of runners and wheelchair users will participate at the same time globally to raise money for cutting edge spinal cord injury research.
The Wings for Life World Run is a global charity race held annually every year since 2014. Runners and wheelchair users all around the world have the chance to join a truly global running event together with their friends and families – no matter where they are located.
People around the world, run simultaneously – each at their own pace, with a 100% of the entry fees going to The Wings for Life Foundation for spinal cord research. The Dubai App Run is organised in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, Al Jalila Foundation and Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department License No. 4794.
The national sponsor of the event is Arada, and supported by Oakley.

Check in for participants to receive their race bib will be from 1:00 PM – 2:20 PM in order to start the race at 3 PM.
Wings For Life Foundation is a not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation with a mission to find a cure for spinal cord injury. It funds world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing injured spinal cords. The Wings for Life World Run is a global charity race supporting the Foundation, it is held in May every year at the same time globally, either running at a flagship run or connected with the dedicated App.
It has been possible to participate in the Wings for Life World Run with an app since 2015. In addition to live tracking or measuring distances to the virtual Catcher Car. There are also social media sharing functions and an audio experience designed to inform, entertain and motivate participants in real time.
Thirty minutes after the race starts globally, the virtual Catcher Car will begin its pursuit. The unique aspect about the event is that participants run as long as they can, and not towards a predetermined finish line. Participants keep running until the virtual Catcher Car reaches them and the race is completed once all participants have been caught up by the virtual Catcher Car.
The event includes world class athletes to beginners, from 18 to 80-year-olds, runners to wheelchair riders- and they are all out there on the track together for a good cause. This is what motivates such a large number of people to take part with such joy year after year, and the fact that 100% of all entry fees are devoted for spinal cord research.
